Beach Weekend Wrap-Up

I've been side-tracked following our return.  Unpacking, laundry, bills and back to work seem to take over at the conclusion of a vacation.

For that reason you can only imagine how sad we were on Monday morning knowing our extended weekend was coming to a close.  We enjoyed a lazy morning: packing, chatting, eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast.  We watched the beach as runners, walkers and dogs of every variety made their way through the fog.  The thin, low clouds moved quickly, revealing sunshine one moment and quickly hiding the blue sky the next.  A friendly seagull decided to take a long break on the railing of our balcony.

Once the car was loaded up we headed to the second floor of the Inn to the spa, Elements by the Sea, for a couple's massage. What a relaxing way to wrap up our weekend! Due to a miscommunication in booking, our time at the spa was shorter than we had anticipated which actually gave us an opportunity to take a final, leisurely stroll down the beach.  The fog continued to play games, coming and going, and at one point we had very limited visibility in front of us.

Heading south on Cannon Beach.
On our way out of town we hit up a shop that had some locally made pepper jellies, Marionberry jam and creamed honey.  By this time the sun was out completely and the streets were filled with people making the most of the long weekend.

Now we just have to figure out what to do to make the most of the gorgeous weather this Saturday and Sunday!  Stay tuned...
